An experienced and dynamic speaker, Melissa brings her passion for emergency and critical care to the forefront with engaging, practical lectures designed for veterinary technicians at all levels.

• Patient & Personal Advocacy- speaking up and speaking out as a technician
• Learn how to ask for what you need to make sure you are fully utilized, avoid burnout, and make coming to work enjoyable.

• Master the pathophysiology of trauma, outline mnemonics used to help with trauma triage, and review the goals of the primary and secondary survey

• Review the electrical conductivity of the heart and learn the 5 simple steps used to ace rhythm interpretation
• Technicians’ Guide to Blocked Cats
• A step-by-step look at the technician’s role during urinary blockage cases. From setup and patient monitoring to recognizing complications and providing post-procedure care

12:00 – 1:00 PM: Lunch & VVTA Business Meeting + Raffle prize drawings exclusively for in-person attendees!
1:00 – 4:30 PM: Afternoon Lectures (with breaks)

Online participants will be asked to check in and participate in interactive polling throughout the day to confirm attendance. Failure to participate may result in ineligibly to receive CE credits.
